Madame l’Ambassadeur Esther Eppstein moves to Gleis 70 for a weekend to Zurich-Altstetten and settles in the guest room, within art from the archive.

The Gleis 70 guest studio in Altstetten hosts residents from all over the world. The artists are selected through an open call by the guest studio itself or by the Pro Helvetia Cultural Foundation. At the end of their stay, the artists leave a work of art for the collection of guest studio 70. Madame l’Ambassadeur, herself a host in the art project message salon embassy, asks the operators of the guest studio Gleis 70 about their experiences with the artists in the studio and about the works of art. A conversation about hospitality, artistic processes, cultural misunderstandings and enriching encounters.

«Encounters with art, people and stories „in transit“» is the first exhibition, curated by Sophie Mauch (aka @praesent): «Gleis70 is located directly on the transit axis, and anyone who works or visits here is touched by it. „in Transit“ is a stopover and a search for traces between the works and the network of relationships woven into them. With works by 15 artists from the last 10 years in the guest studio Gleis70. »

Sophie Mauch is a cultural mediator who is passionate about relationships of and between places, people and stories.
